I had a little question concerning the last round.
When the scoring pattern was changed to 10 for a direct, 20 for a pass, and -10 for an incorrect answer to a passed question to 15 for a direct, 30 for a pass - shouldn't the negative for a wrong answer have been -15?
@amartya_sharan- Did that negative scoring have an affect on your chances or something?
Secondly, I personally wouldn't have changed the scoring pattern but teams were playing it too safe for my linking and moreover the scoreboard didn't look real good. So I increased the points hoping for teams to atleast have a shot at it. An increase in the negatives would not have encouraged the teams to take a shot at the questions so thought against it.
@anshulkharbanda - We'd been leading the quiz until the last round, so the scoreboard looked quite pretty to us : p I know it's quite disheartening putting in all the effort of making the quiz, and then having a lot of questions going unanswered, but taking momentous decisions concerning the quiz format is usually ill-advisable.
The general idea is, the score on a quiz has to take account of consistency, because it's supposed to represent who answered what questions at what difficulty level. I personally felt the questions in the last round were a little uneven in terms of difficulty - and the deviation from the scoring pattern further complicated things.
Oh and please do fix the corrupted PPT problem, I really want to save this one. : )
Anyway, winning's winning. Congratulations New Era. : D
